HAPPY OCTOBER 1st !!! Halloween season has arrived!!! 🎃 👻
I was seeing some memes around about the “September 30th x October 1st” where people post a normal-looking photo to represent “September 30th” and a photo of the same person looking much more Halloween-themed to represent “October 1st” and the beginning of this spooky month. So, I decided to make the Johnny’s version! All the photos were taken during the filming days, or pretty close days, of each movie, less the Grindelwald one, which are photos of the same day!!!
Today, September 1, is celebrated by fans of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts worldwide, the day that the Hogwarts’ students return to school. Grindelwald was not a Hogwarts student, but what if he invaded the castle to make a surprise to his old friend?… Or is it just one of the Dumbledore’s deepest, most desperate desire, while he sees the Mirror of Erised?
Well, this is my special post to celebrate this special day: Gellert Grindelwald x Albus Dumbledore: The Meeting
The 2019 Teen Choice Awards happens tomorrow, August 11
at 17h (Los Angeles Hour) at Hermosa Beach, California. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald had three nominations: > The movie as “Choice Sci-Fi/Fantasy Movie”.
Johnny as “Choice Movie Villain” for his role as Gellert Grindelwald.
> Katherine Waterston as “Choice Sci-Fi/Fantasy Movie Actress” for her role as Porpentina ‘Tina’ Goldstein.
Although is pretty known that they are not going to attend (even though Johnny seems still being in Los Angeles) who knows what happens… It wouldn’t be amazing Johnny winning the category and telling that Grindelwald was coming again… sigh… Either way, Fingers crossed.
As usual the tickets are sold out, but the event will be aired in some countries around the world, by FOX and Warner Channel. Check your local schedule to watch. Online, I’ll let this two links to watch the event: > Link A (USTVgo.tv) >Link B (123tvnow)
Happy Birthday for the greatest wizard of all the times, the creator of the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts Magical World, J.K. Rowling! 🎉
“I could not be more honored to have been invited into this world by David Yates, David Heyman and J.K. Rowling. I felt thoroughly humbled to be thought of for anything in one of J.K.’s brilliant stories because I admire her so much. When the idea first came around, she and I talked for hours, and what amazed me was Jo (J.K. Rowling) never once dictated to me how Grindelwald should be. She gave me information to build the structure, and so you work within the boundaries of that structure, but she was also very open to my ideas. One of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard in my career was when Jo said, ‘I can’t wait to see what you do with the character.’ Obviously, all these characters are very precious to her, so for her to trust me to that degree was very exciting and such a boost of confidence.” – Johnny Depp (2018)
“I’m like, the luckiest man in the world to be chosen to play Grindelwald.” – Johnny Depp (Fantastic Beasts the Crimes of Grindelwald Blur-ray)
Today, July 31, are J.K. Rowling and also Harry Potter’s birthday! J.K. turns 54 old and I’d like to thank her so much for bringing such magical world for us. Harry Potter was one of the first book and movie sagas I really sat to watch and read a lot of times, crying, laughing and learning a lot of things. Also, I’d like to thank for bringing Johnny to this universe and, although it’s not 100% confirmed, we do hope to see him as Grindelwald again next year.
As Hagrid wrote on Harry’s birthday cake in “Philosopher’s Stone”.
“The moment has come… Open your minds and I will share with you… The future” – Gellert Grindelwald
One year ago at this time we we’re still shocked with Johnny’s surprise appearance fully dressed as Gellert Grindelwald at 2018 San Diego Comic Con.
It all started when the main actors from Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald(Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogel, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Zoe Kravitz, Claudia Kim, Callum Turner, and Jude Law) were almost finishing their panel for a huge audience talking about the upcoming movie, when suddenly everything became dark, and Grindelwald’s symbol appeared on the big screen along with his voice that filled the room with an alternated speech from the movie: “Friends? You come today because you crave something new… Something different”. Then, an alternate line not released in the movie and probably from one of Johnny’s rehearsals continues: “The moment has come. Open your minds and I will share with you… The future”
The screen then changed for an alternate image from the amphitheater where some of the Grindelwald’s followers made all the people who received special bracelets shine in a blue light. The same had happened on the beginning of the interview when Eddie Redmayne waved Newt wand and made the bracelets light up. But no one was ready for what was going to happen… At the same time, out of nowhere Johnny fully dressed from head to toe as Gellert Grindelwald appeared on the stage and all you can hear is the crowd going crazy – I gotta say. THIS moment was something really unique beyond fantastic. I don’t know how Johnny can kept the character, but he did and shared with the surprised audience an alternate speech from what we would hear and watch more than 3 months later when the movie was finally released. What also called attention was the atmosphere. Just like Grindelwald, Johnny made all the crowd stay quiet (something that even made Jude Law surprised) as he started to talk:
“My brothers, my sisters, my friends… The great gift of your applause, is not for me, but for yourselves… Therefore, applaud yourselves… It has been said that I hate the non-magic, the Muggles, the No-Maj, the Can’t-Spells. I do not hate them… I do not. I say the Muggles are not lesser, but other. Not worthless, but of other value. Magic… blooms only in rare souls…. It is granted to those who live for higher things. Oh, what a world we would make for all of humanity. All the humanity, we who live for freedom, for truth, the moment has come to rise up and take our rightful place in the world.”
And as soon as he appeared, he vanished away living a shocked and thrilled crowd who really enjoyed his performance and was more than hyped for the movie, because a new trailer was also released few hours earlier.
Although, many people was hoping for him to give an interview it didn’t happened until months later, what in my opinion was something I really enjoyed and maybe something that Johnny was also wanting to give to the audience keeping his character a mysterious person.
Later on the same day at the Comic-Con, the cast reunited to give an interview for Entertainment Tonight and revealed that the cast knew about Johnny’s surprise but not about Johnny being Grindelwald on the first movie.
